Welcome to Bean Merchant. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services operated by Bean Merchant, a sole trader registered in New Zealand.

Orders & Payment

Order Acceptance

All orders are subject to acceptance by us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to product availability, errors in product information, or suspected fraudulent activity.

Pricing

  • All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST
  • Prices are subject to change without notice
  • The price charged will be the price displayed at the time of ordering
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors

Payment

  • Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering
  • We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and internet banking
  • Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe
  • Failed payments may result in order cancellation

Order Modifications

Orders may be modified or cancelled before roasting begins. Contact us immediately at contact@beanmerchant.co.nz to request changes. Once coffee has been roasted, orders cannot be modified.

Subscription Services

Subscription Terms

  • Subscriptions renew automatically based on your chosen frequency
  • Payment is charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
  • You can modify, pause, or cancel subscriptions anytime
  • No cancellation fees or penalties apply

Subscription Modifications

You may modify your subscription preferences, including coffee selection, grind type, delivery frequency, and shipping address, through your account dashboard. Changes take effect from the next delivery.

Pausing Subscriptions

Subscriptions can be paused for up to 3 months. After 3 months, paused subscriptions will be automatically cancelled unless reactivated.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect immediately, and you will not be charged for future deliveries.

Delivery Terms

Delivery Areas

We deliver throughout New Zealand. Delivery times may vary based on location and courier availability.

Delivery Timeframes

  • Standard delivery: 3-5 business days
  • Rural delivery: 5-7 business days

Delivery Responsibility

  • You must provide accurate delivery information
  • Risk passes to you upon delivery
  • We are not responsible for packages left unattended at your request
  • Delivery delays due to courier issues are beyond our control

Failed Deliveries

If delivery fails due to incorrect address or unavailability, additional delivery charges may apply for redelivery attempts.

Returns & Refunds

Consumer Guarantee

Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 are not affected by these terms. Products must be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose.

Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 30 days of delivery for a refund, exchange, or credit.

Refund Process

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method
  • Processing time is 5-7 business days
  • Return shipping costs may apply for some returns
  • Damaged or contaminated coffee cannot be returned
