How do I place an order?

  2. Browse our shop - Choose from our full range of coffees

Simply add items to your cart and proceed to checkout. You can pay securely with credit card or debit card.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! Our digital gift cards are perfect for the coffee lover in your life. They can be used for any products on our site and never expire.

Can I modify my order after placing it?

If your order hasn't been dipatched yet, we can usually modify it. Contact us immediately at contact@beanmerchant.co.nz with your order number.

What is the Coffee Quiz?

Our Coffee Quiz is a personalized questionnaire that helps us understand your taste preferences, brewing methods, and coffee habits. Based on your answers, we recommend coffees that perfectly match your profile.

How accurate are the recommendations?

Our matching algorithm considers dozens of factors and has been refined over thousands of customer interactions. Most customers find their matches to be 85%+ accurate to their taste preferences.

Can I retake the quiz?

Absolutely! Your taste preferences may evolve over time. You can retake the quiz anytime from your account dashboard to get updated recommendations.

Subscriptions

How do coffee subscriptions work?

Choose your delivery frequency (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), and we'll automatically send you fresh coffee. You can pause, skip, or cancel anytime from your account. If you would like a customised frequency outside of the standard schedule, we can sort you out. Email us at contact@beanmerchant.co.nz to update your subscription.

Can I change my coffee selection?

Yes! You can change your coffee selection, grind type, and package size anytime in your subscription management page. Changes take effect from your next delivery.

What if I want variety in my subscription?

Perfect! You can enable "Surprise Me" mode and we'll rotate through different coffees that match your taste profile. It's a great way to discover new favorites.

How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

Go to "My Account" → "Subscriptions" and click on the subscription you want to modify. You can pause anytime or cancel completely with no penalties.

Shipping

Do I need to pay extra for shipping?

Shipping is included in all our pricing, so there are no extra charge surprises at the checkout.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery takes 3-5 business days to most areas. Rural addresses may take 5-7 business days.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we only ship within New Zealand. We're working on international shipping options for the future.

Coffee Care

How should I store my coffee?

Store in a cool, dry place away from light and heat. Most of our roasters' bags have one-way valves, so you can keep coffee in the original packaging. Avoid the fridge or freezer for daily-use coffee.

How long does coffee stay fresh?

Our coffee is roasted to order and peaks in flavor 3-14 days after roasting. It remains delicious for 3-4 weeks when stored properly. Ground coffee should be used within 1-2 weeks.

Should I grind my coffee fresh?

Absolutely! Grinding just before brewing gives the best flavor. If you don't have a grinder, our roasters are happy to grind your coffee for your preferred brewing method.

Returns

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you're not happy with your coffee, contact us and we'll make it right with a refund, exchange, or credit.

What if my coffee arrives damaged?

Contact us immediately with photos of the damage. We'll arrange a replacement or refund and investigate with our courier partner to prevent future issues.

Account

Do I need an account to order?

You can place one-off orders as a guest, but we recommend creating an account to track orders, save preferences, and access subscription features.

How do I reset my password?

Click "Lost Password?" on the login page and enter your email. We'll send you a secure link to reset your password.
